Malta Permanent Residency or Citizenship for International Investors

Significant Expansion of Travel Ban to Include 36 Additional Countries.

A recent report from The Washington Post has revealed that the United States is considering a significant expansion of its travel ban to include 36 additional countries.  
New Travel Ban - Banned Countries

Of particular concern, this list includes the following Caribbean nations:

• Antigua and Barbuda
• Dominica
• Saint Kitts and Nevis
• Saint Lucia

According to an internal memo, these countries have been given a 60-day deadline to meet new requirements or potentially face a full or partial U.S. entry ban. One of the reasons cited for scrutiny is the availability of "citizenship by monetary investment without a requirement of residency." Why This Matters Beyond the U.S.

This development in the U.S. has serious potential implications for Maltese immigration programs. Historically, when countries are flagged by jurisdictions like the United States, Malta and the EU often align their own security and due diligence protocols.

We have strong reason to believe that if these Caribbean countries are placed on a U.S. travel ban list, Malta may follow suit and prohibit citizens from these nations from applying for its popular residency and potential future citizenship programs.

Therefore, we strongly advise that if you hold a passport from, or are in the process of applying for a passport from, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Egypt, or Vanuatu and are considering Malta (EU) residency or citizenship, to start the application process without delay to secure your position within the EU system ahead of these anticipated restrictions.
