MPRP — Document Checklist

As of

A complete MPRP file includes IDs, police certificates, financial/asset evidence, health insurance, and qualifying property documents, plus program forms and declarations.

Do documents need legalization/apostille?

Often, yes—depending on the issuing country and Malta’s requirements. We’ll advise case-by-case which items need notarization, legalization, or apostille.

How recent must police certificates be?

They should be current at submission. If processing extends, you may be asked to refresh certificates that have aged beyond the acceptable window.

Which financial documents are acceptable to prove assets and liquidity?

Bank statements, custody/brokerage statements, fixed-deposit confirmations, and official letters from financial institutions are typical. Figures should clearly show ownership, currency, and valuation dates.

How should bank statements be formatted?

Provide official PDFs or stamped statements showing your full name, account number (you may redact partial digits for security), currency, closing balances, and statement period. Screenshots are discouraged unless also supported by official statements.

Are translations required? Who can translate?

Non-English/non-Maltese documents generally need certified translations by a qualified translator. Include the translator’s certification, signature, and contact details. We can assist with all translations.

When must the property lease or purchase be in place?

You select your path (rent or purchase) during preparation. The qualifying lease or purchase is typically finalized at approval stage per program instructions; use qualifying terms to avoid delays. We can assist with finding a qualifying property for lease or purchase.

What health-insurance documentation is required?

Evidence of comprehensive coverage for all applicants (policy schedule/certificate, coverage limits, and validity). Include proof of payment or activation if applicable. We can assist with finding local health insurance.

Do minors need separate police certificates?

Often not, but age thresholds vary by jurisdiction. Provide any juvenile background confirmations if available and required; we’ll guide you per applicant age and country.

What biometric data and photos are needed?

Standard passport-style photos plus biometrics captured at the appropriate stage. Follow current photo specs (size, background, recency) to prevent rejections.

Can I submit scans, or are originals required?

Initial filings often accept certified scans. Originals or legalized copies may be requested later for verification. Keep originals on hand.

How long should my passport be valid?

Ensure adequate validity beyond the anticipated processing period and card issuance. Renew early if your passport will expire soon.

What if a document expires during processing?

Be ready to refresh time-sensitive items (police certificates, bank statements, insurance confirmations) if they age out before decision.

Who can certify copies?

Typically notaries, lawyers, or authorized officials per local rules. Certifications should include the certifier’s full name, title, signature, date, and stamp/seal. We can assist with notarizations/certifications.

What are common mistakes to avoid?

Missing pages/signatures, outdated financials, non-qualifying leases/purchases, and inconsistent name spellings across documents. Use the checklist and keep a version log. We will conduct thorough document reviews prior to filing.

How do I update my file after submission?

Provide updated documents promptly via the instructed channel (e.g., your advisor/representative). Always reference your file ID and include a short cover note describing the change.
